The next part of my series examining the FAA mental health policies for pilots and air traffic controllers was just posted. In this piece, I discuss some recent FAA policy changes that allow pilots to disclose past depression without getting their license Deferred.
While the intent is there, I argue that the FAA is simply do more of the same. The changes are insufficient due to unrealistic criteria, leaving the pilot with few good options.
